Don't think so much plz ~

Supposedly to sleep when it's so late, why still don't want to sleep?? >_< Been having too much thoughts in my mind, I just don't feel that it's right or good to share with anyone. But this is really not good and it's affecting my sleep. When I don't get enough of sleep, everything just gets terrible, my mood, my skin and urgh! Don't mention!

I always think that I can become my own therapist for every problem I face, yes it works most of the time, or rather I'm good at convincing myself? I seriously don't know. I've been very tough for this but sometimes I just feel as though I can't breathe anymore, can't take this anymore! I'm very TIRED actually, but T. J.Y. , you must not give up in the things you do, cannot!! Must go on till the end!!! I don't know what will happen in the end, but will definitely cheer myself up if I ever get sad during this process, reward myself a bit if there's something great happens.

Don't worry, I think I'm just too tired that I get myself a little confused sometimes. As long as I get enough of rest, I guess I'll be back to normal again! Yes I'm sure I will be!! Okay should rest before going for my trip, this would be the best chance to clear my mind:)

Things I did during the holidays~ #Part3

 Hanging out
Met up with some of my close buddies from secondary school. Those were the days when we were still so naive, haha are you sure?? :P But yea kinda miss those times when we spent our time together, studying in the same class, all the fun, happy, sad or crazy things that we did together was simply nostalgic!:)

We always have this pose whenever we reunite, lol looks kinda funny but just don't wanna forget that we were once called the X-group,  with 2 pretty members missing here:P

Sushi-making workshop

I went for a sushi-making workshop held by the T-Garden Cooking school. It was actually meant for my elective, guess what? Was quite fun. After the workshop, I've gained more knowledge regarding sushi

Surprisingly, there was a lesson teaching us about the theory part of sushi, things like the different types of sushi and their Japanese name, ingredients used and etc. They also told us from where we can buy those ingredients and the price. HAHA felt like an auntie out of a sudden, but yea it's good to know all these, just in case I want to do it on my own.

But I think I will still prefer eating at the Japanese restaurant, reason being there are quite many things to prepare when making sushi. Lazy people like me think that is a bit tedious and time-consuming to do all these things. Unless there's some special occasions, then I don't mind making sushi:D

If you are interested to learn, I am quite willing to teach you since it's still fresh in my mind, BUT just teaching you verbally LOL. Don't ask me to prepare the ingredients XP.

The workshop specifically taught us to make Gunkanzushi, that means sushi which has a seaweed sheet encircling the rice ball, the reason why it was named Gunkan was because Gunkan in Japanese means warship, and this type of sushi has the shape of a warship which we see in the olden days. Altogether, I learned to make 10 types of sushi, 4 pieces for each, so in total I'd made 40 sushi:D

(From top to bottom: Egg Mayo Gunkan, Salmon Roe Gunkan, Red Ebiko Gunkan, Chuka Wakame Gunkan and the one on the right is inari sushi) Not too bad but definitely not up to standard yet :P

CONCERT!~

Went for Jayessless's concert over the weekend, yeah man!! I just love listening to their sweet voices, very soothing and it's simply wonderful!! First time listening to their live show! I could see that they are having quite a lot of fans out there, still increasing... I'd been longing to go for a concert, but there was nobody to go with me, this time I finally had somebody to go with me :DDD

Merely awesome!:)
Up till now, I have almost finished blogging about the things I did during the holidays. Soon, I'll be going for a trip! But not too sure if I'm free enough to blog by that time, since it's close to the commencement of another new semester!!

Anyway, I think my holidays this time were well spent!:)

Things I did during the holidays~ # Part 2

SHUN'S BIRTHDAY!:)
Ooh hoooo, next up!! Shun's birthday was just around the corner, and somebody here was quite free still:) Hmmm...

As I was watching TV and thinking of what I could do at the same time, my sister started baking, hmm again? Yes it's AGAIN! I think baking is now her latest hobby, nowadays she bakes quite often, haha quite good also, I get to eat them :P yummy yummy, if not yummy just eat one slice and keep quiet will do XD

Then I asked her what are you baking this time, ' Oh it's red velvet cake again!! You wanna help me??' Then I said, 'Oohh it's okay... I will just watch, hehehee' Baking was never my cup of tea, probably because after I failed miserably during the first attempt, I just didn't have the motivation to bake again! So lousy right? :P

As usual, I would watch her bake, and maybe disturbed her a bit, or be her little helper, taking this taking that for her. Apparently, she was baking the cake for her boss's birthday, so thoughtful right! Then she said, 'Do you all want to eat also? I have another set of ingredients to bake one more cake.'

Then suddenly this thought came into my mind, maybe I could bake a cake for Shun! Yeah this would be a good idea!!:D Only then I started to be more interested in what my sister was doing. Kept asking her was it hard to bake this, how to do this, how to do that?? For the 1st time!

Then she just told me to go to this website, so I read everything and watched the video, hey didn't seem to be too hard:) And if you're interested too, click here.

So the next day, I spent my whole day baking with my younger sister. It was exceptionally fun because I was baking for a reason, thus I told myself,' This time I must not fail, must give shun a cake on her birthday!!'

For the first time, I was reading a recipe so thoroughly without skipping a single sentence or word, even my sister was asking,' Are you done yet?? I can't wait to start alreadyy!' Me replied, ' Heyy give me some time la, I want to make a nice cake this time or maybe even nicer than the one jie made xP'. Super ambitious right, when it was only my first time baking a birthday cake:D

All the materials were taken out before baking! so Are you READY??

Hehee this looks a bit disgusting over here, hey wait laa...
Waiting anxiously for the cake, 2 more minutes, it's 2 more minutes!!

Not too bad looking right?? But in fact it should be redder for a red velvet, sb here reduced the amount of the red colouring, coz think that it looks kinda poisonous:P
Spreading the cream cheese on top really took me ages, lol so hard to make it even! Y u still no smooth yet..??
First round of decoration~ using my favourite- STRAWBERRIES!! :D
Since there's a big empty space, why not put her name right? :)
Lol still can't believe that I baked!
On her birthday, a few of us celebrated for her. Though it wasn't like a big celebration, but we spent one whole day with her, trying to keep her happy, amid the stress she was facing while preparing for the major exams.

The pretty card jin made, so creative right?:)
Birthday girl looking really happy here!:DD

I think I'm starting to have a little more interest in baking now. Wow my god who's talking here, ME!!!! Yea I'll try to bake again when I have the mood, so till then!! :DDD I just like seeing people's happy faces, it makes me happy too:D

Alright, to be continued... # part 3 cominggg!!!

Things I did during the holidays~ #Part1

Did quite a lot of things during the holidays:) My holidays are treating me really well since now I have more time to do what I've always wanted to do!

I don't know where should I start first, so I will just write out whatever that comes in my mind:b EASIER!!

SELECTIVE
I had completed my selective during the holidays, which was about 3 weeks long. The selective I got was in fact quite interesting since this topic wasn't really covered in my course. It was about adolescent sexual and reproductive health, I've learned something here and am now slightly more aware of those issues regarding this topic.

I seriously feel that adolescents ought to be given more focus and care as they are going to become the leaders of tomorrow. In fact, this is quite a crucial period, as they are undergoing a lot of changes physically, mentally and emotionally. They are all in the process of finding their own identities, understanding themselves and the changes which are revolving around them better. It's not an easy phase!!

Therefore, getting support from family, friends and society is very very important when going through this phase of life, no joke!! This is speaking from a person who had just gone through this phase hmm not too long ago XD

Every group has to come out with a poster and it can be anything that we learned during the selective. So this is from our group, looking really nice:) Awesome team mates I had!! :)

DANCE
Our dance performance was great on that night, apart from having some technical problems, which gave us some topsy-turvy moments and I could see some minor mistakes here and there when watching the videos. But that doesn't matter anymore, all we care now is the process that we went through together. What more important is, the dance was performed smoothly without any pauses in between!! so GREAT SHOW people!!!:DDD

The dance crew~ ( From left to right: arranging from tall to tallerrrR =D)

DENTURE
Finally I've finished doing the dentures, looking so pretttyyyyy! LOL of course I'm saying that, is all hard work okayy, hahahaha!! It took me about half a year doing it, firstly I didn't spend every single day doing it, then we had to attend some lectures before proceeding to the next step. The bad news is there are just too many steps when making a denture :(  Still, I think it was really cool to make it on your own, and the lab assistant really helped us a lot!:D

>>>>  TADAAAaaaaaa!!:D  <<<<
Omg so pretty XD  just gotta admit that this is what we called syiok-sendiri:P

WOW so shinny!! Right?? right? erm..

BUT sadly, Ms. Tan you need to break your denture into half 1/2
and REPAIR it!!

HUH?? WHAT!!!!!??!! HAAAaaalf?? D:

Such a sad thing to do, is like cutting my own flesh :(

HAHA sorry for the exaggeration! Just wanna joke a bit :D
So now, I'm currently still repairing my poor denture, its almost done, just left with the polishing part. Don't worry, I will make you look prettyyyy again!!!:D

SO that's all for now! To be continued....in part 2 (:

Once in a lifetime experience!

Recently been busy practising a dance, this dance will be performed during the gala dinner of the 4th National Dental Students' Scientific Conference 2012. Sounds like a big thing, so we're actually representing IMU to perform, since it will be IMU's turn to be the host for this event next year.

We only had about two weeks or even slightly less than that to prepare, thus the dance is rather simple but it's not too bad when we dance together, just that we need to be more synchronized.

Just had our rehearsal at UiTM yesterday, we were so surprised to see such a big stage where we were going to perform, none of us expected to see that. We even started to get a bit nervous, but in the end after getting used to the stage, we became better when rehearsing for the second time.

Had never performed on such a big stage before~

Gotta face a huge crowd on that day! Quite excited and nervous ~
Can you see a heart-shaped bruise on my knee <3,
so nice right?? HAHA

Yea all of us had bruises here and there, but I'm sure it's worthwhile after all :)

Hopefully our performance tomorrow will be a great success!! NO matter what, all of us will put in our best!! & Good show everyone!! (=

As long as it works for me!

Sometimes when you care too much for some people,  little petty unhappy things that they did to you could actually make you rather sad. I admit that I'm a busybody, everything that happens to people whom I'm close to I would want to know, but.... MAYBE I shouldn't know so much, I suppose if people want you to know something, they will automatically tell you.

I'm kinda tired of my busybody role too, actually all I wanna do is just to make sure that people around me are feeling alright. And I realize that even if you want to make them feel alright, not necessarily they will be alright, everyone just has that particular person they choose to listen to.

So from now onwards, I will divert my focus on brushing up skills which I can still improve on. I'm paying so much fees for some lessons, thus shouldn't put my parents' money to waste, should spend more time to practise!!

Yes I will try not to get distracted so easily, gotta accept the fact that I can't care so much about others unless there's a need to.

All I know is hopefully I can make myself better, healthier, cleverer, mentally stronger (haha) and maybe prettier (LOL). Yes I'm gonna do that!!!! xD

Okay I'm feeling alright now!!! Phew~

Having a great time :)

Early this month, we celebrated daddy's and my pretty sister-in-law's birthdays:) The cake on the left was baked by my sister BUT accidentally damaged by me, so was covered with the happy birthday stick :P while the one on the right was bought from a bakery shop, and the coolest part was they were both RED VELVET cakes.

Honestly, the one baked by my sister tasted so much better as compared to the other one, big claps for my sister!!:)

We wanted to give dad a surprise on his big day, but seriously epic fail XD Still, he was more than happy to see all his friends invited by us and an array of yummy food ready to be served.

:)

Next up, I invited nearly half a class of our dental batch mates to my house since some of them wanted to sing karaoke.  Nowadays we all go for our respective selectives, thus very seldom we get to spend time together. It was in fact quite an impromptu plan, but still turned out to be quite well and I suppose we all had fun:)

Even my little cousie was very happy that day, he was having a great time playing with all the big brothers and sisters, chasing here and there, I had a really hard time catching him:D

Sometimes it's good to have a gathering like this once in a while, where everyone gets to know each other better.

Then I realized that just by making people around you happy, you are actually giving yourself a reason to be happy, just as simple as that.

I'm sure deep down in everyone's heart, there are things which can make us a little down, but when you are feeling that, DON'T FORGET there are also a lot more things which you can do to make yourself a happier person :) So why not?

Alright, so for those who are preparing for the upcoming exams, work hard and strive for the best, don't get too stressed out k!! For those having holidays like me, happy holidays and enjoy as much as you can!!!:DDD

Till then~

Simplicity is sometimes the best !!

Recently I've just finished another task, that is to design a logo for
OHC (Oral Health Committee) .

It's a rather simple and plain logo.

I personally think that a logo should not be too complicated so that it can be remembered easily by the viewers.

My friend actually asked me if the logo signifies or symbolizes anything.

So based on the design above, the “tooth” in the logo is representing our group, the oral health committee and also us as the dental students. Then the assorted squares and rectangles behind the tooth show that even though each of us has got different responsibilities and positions, we all still work and stay together as a team.

As you can see, all these squares and rectangles can be merged easily together, just like a jigsaw puzzle, which also signifies that all the members can work very well with each other in achieving our goals.

Some of the reasons why I decided to choose those colours for the logo:

From what I found, apparently GREEN is an important color because it often brings some professionalism to a logo. It signifies tranquility, nature, health, and freshness, widely used in healthcare, really suits our group.

BLUE is a colour often associated with trust, loyalty, royalty, friendliness, wisdom and peace.

ORANGE represents energy, enthusiasm, flamboyance and demand of attention. This colour offers a sense of openness and friendliness to their viewers. It captures the attention of the spectators and gives the logo a contemporary look. I think this can evoke some cheerful aura:)

WHITE is the universal color of peace. It represents purity, simplicity, sterility and refinement.

This might not be the most perfect logo, but I had already encapsulated everything that I thought was good in it, so hopefully this logo can bring some positive energy to OHC :)

Not to forget, I wanna thank my brother for giving me some advice and helping me to make this logo look more presentable.
